Teaser Tuesday: March 10

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly book meme originally featured at Should Be Reading. To participate, just open the book you are currently reading to a random page, and choose two ‘teaser’ sentences from somewhere on that page. (no spoilers!)

So I must confess that 2015 has so far been a superb year for reading for me. The past 6 books I have read have handed out 5 stars too, which has never happened on this blog before! My current read is nothing short of amazing as well which I am very thankful for. I am reading Max Factor’s biography by Fred E. Basten called Max Factor: The Man Who Changed the Faces of the World. Although a relatively short read it’s been incredible so far. This guy was nothing short of amazing! He’s the guy who shot the platinum blond look to fame, who provided the first dog makeup for Rin Tin Tin and the man that first created false lashes. Anyway, I am going to stop before I end up writing out the review here and now.

“As Helen Van Slyke reported in Glamour magazine, ‘If you have ever referred to yourself as a brownette, tried to powder brush, admired a screen star’s make-up, harmonized your lipstick with your hair coloring, used a lip brush, sent for a mail-order wig or hairpiece, said ‘make-up’ instead of ‘cosmetics’, then your life has been touched by the vital Factor known as Max. For all those things were invented or coined or perfected by Max Factor, who has come to symbolize beauty on and off the screen, in this country and a hundred and one others.” (79)

 What are you reading today?

  1. That definitely sounds like an interesting read! I always love reading memoirs, and the life of Max Factor doesn’t sound boring at all. Great teaser!
