Teaser Tuesday: Feb 3

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly book meme originally featured at Should Be Reading. To participate, just open the book you are currently reading to a random page, and choose two ‘teaser’ sentences from somewhere on that page. (no spoilers!)

I know, I know it’s not a Tuesday anywhere in the world right now, but yesterday I completely lost track of time! My reading has sort of slowed, I am probably suffering a small reading lapse after the 4 books I had read in 4 days a couple weeks back. No excuses though, as I have started reading the next book on my list, The Girl Who Played with Fire by Stieg Larsson, the second book in the Millenium Trilogy.

“He disliked intensely the idea of having to be at the mercy of a stranger. But it was a necessity. He reminded himself that he was not alone in having a grudge against Salander. It was a question of recruiting allies. In a low voice he explained his business.” (50)

  1. Would love to know what you think of ‘The Girl’, when you’ve finished it. My current serious read (nearly finished) is ‘An Appetite for Wonder’ by Richard Dawkins, part one of his autobiography. I followed your instructions and came up with:
‘The food, with hindsight, was pretty horrible. Sweets were among the goods rationed by the government, and this had the paradoxical effect – presumably to the detriment of our teeth – that we actually had more sweets than we otherwise would have, because our ration was scrupulously handed out after tea.’
